Daviden pinturan bezala –bertan Maraten gorpua agertzen da bere bainuontzian, Charlotte kamaradak hil egin ondoren-, gure ideiak eta ilusioak paperezko itsasontziak bezala naufragatzen dira eguneroko bizimoduan.

Nire ustez, Maiakovskik idatzi zituen azken hitzak arimaren egoera kolektibo jakin baten adierazle dira. Badirudi pertsona fisiko batek gaixotasun sozial oso bat bere egiten duela. Alde kultural eta politikoa; gizakientzat badira arrainentzat ura den bezalakoa, gure medio naturala: bertan mugitzen gara, beraren existentziaz ohartu gabe. Noizean behin, ekaitzak errutina astintzen du eta noraezean igeri eta sakabanatuta uzten gaitu, naufragio baten ostean bezala.

Instalazioak egurrezko pieza bat du, bainontzi-itsasontzi bat errepresentatzen duena, eta Daviden koadroa gogoratzen duen paralelepipedo bat -koadro horretan Marat agertzen da, bere bainuontzian hila-, zeinaren gainean Davidek «Maratentzat» idazten duen. Bainuontziaren atzean dagoen horman erakusketarako egindako bideoa proiektatzen da, eta paralelepipedoaren gainean Maiakovskyren olerkiaren testua duen beste bideo bat proiektatzen da.

Las últimas palabras que escribiera Mayakovski me parecen reveladoras de un estado anímico colectivo. Es como si una persona física asumiera toda una enfermedad social. Lo cultural y lo político; para los humanos  es como el agua para los peces, el medio natural en el que nos movemos  sin percibir su existencia. De vez en cuando , una tormenta agita la rutina, dejándonos flotando, dispersos, como después de un naufragio.

La instalación consta de una pieza de madera representando una bañera-barco y un paralepípedo que recuerda al que sale en el cuadro de David en el que representa a Marat asesinado en su bañera, y sobre el que David escribe “A Marat”. En el muro tras la bañera se proyecta el video realizado para la exposición y sobre el paralepíedo se proyecta otro video con el texto de la poesía de Mayakovsky.

The last words written by Mayakovski are for me revelatory of a collective state of mind. It is as if a physical person assumed a social disease. The cultural and the political; for the humans it is like water for the fish, the natural medium in which we move without noticing its existence. Sometimes a storm agitates the routine, leaving us floating, spread out, like after a shipwreck.

The installation consists of a piece of wood representing a bathtub-boat and a parallelepiped which reminds us of the one that is in the painting by David in which he represents Marat murdered in her bath, and over which David writes «To Marat». On the wall behind the bathtub a video made for the exhibition is projected and over the parallelepiped another video is projected with the text of Mayakovsky´s poems.
